If such is a reaction that you get from sellers 
who list that they will ship internationally, or 
if such is the reaction that you get only from 
sellers who will *not* ship internationally.

As for disliking Americans. . . It's not just 
Americans. (But I MUST comment: No, WWII did NOT 
help relations between our countries. But as far 
as America dropping bombs on Japan - yes. However,
objective study of history will teach anyone that 
Japan was NOT an innocent bystander in the war 
either - Pearl Harbor, anyone? And that's only 
one example. It sounds hard and harsh, but I 
think there comes a time at which people need to 
simply agree to LEARN FROM IT and then DROP IT so 
that life can continue in a constructive manner.)
Anyhow, there is a high level of xenophobia in 
general in Japan. My sister's husband lived in 
Japan for quite a number of years - grew up there 
too - and is fluent in Japanese AND in Japanese 
culturisms. However, he does not look like a 
Japanese man. He's German/Phillipino. He 
constantly had problems. . . And mind you - he 
LIVED in Japan!
