I like the little chart Taro has (regarding what
the cel is from, if it has a sketch, background,
etc). I also think I remember once seeing a cel
or two that had a notation underneath the picture
that the background was a copy. (If I remember
right, they were some Tenchi OVA cels.) Overall, I
don't think Taro sells many cels with copied
backgrounds.

As far as damage goes, I'm sure they would note
anything major like a crease - I've never
actually seen them note it, but I've also ordered
freely from them and never gotten a cel with a
crease. Regarding line fading or, say, abrasions
on the surface of the cel. . . For that all you
have to do is look at the price tag. If you're
looking at a cel that "should" go for $100 and
it's $50, expect that it might not be in the best
condition. If you're looking at a cel that should
go for about $100 and it's $150, expect something
pristine. (*shrug*) That's at least what I've
always done.

The only surprises I've gotten from Taro have
been good ones. ^_^ Like a Miyu cel I ordered
without realizing it was oversized. . . VERY
oversized. When this *HUGE* package arrived even
the postal employees looked at me and said
"they're usually not this big!" ^_^;; (If I'd
thought about it, I would have realized how big
it had to be, since I've seen the scene it comes
from and should have known it was a pan cel, but
at the time, there were no notations about it
being oversized on Taro's site. Now they have the
"show me how big this cel is" link. ^_^)

Has anyone else seen them note things under the
picture on the detail page? (Meaning the page
that shows the larger scan.) Or is it only me?

Many Sharp Smiles,
