Well.. some do ^_^

My family has always thought the whole cels thing 
is pretty darn spiffy. Half my collection wasn't 
even purchased by me, but rather given as gifts 
by close friends and family. It's pretty cool 
when you can ring up your mom and she starts 
telling you "hey, did you see those cels on E-
bay?" or "I just snagged this off the Noonchester 
site, hope ya like it" etc etc.. She's even 
bought cels for my 7 year old sister.

Even if it isn't really art (You have to admit, 
cels are Kitch..) just explain to your folks the 
inherent value of the things.. Maybe they'll 
start buying you cels too ;)

Oh, and as far as friends IRL go.. I never show 
them my collection unless they ask (they only 
know I have cels via stumbling across my webpage 
since my house is not decorated with anime) Upon 
seeing the little painted plasticy bits they tend 
to mutter something like "oooh pretty".. Noone's 
ever said I was insane for buying the things. 
They tend to ask if I have renter's/fire 
insurance though.. O_o I guess I'm just lucky, or 
have really wierd friends and family.
