In progress . . . still!

To anyone who lives in Georgia: if you're
considering framing a cel, first take a trip
to a little anime store on Pleasant Hill Rd.
called the House of Anime... the cels hanging on
their walls are some of the most heartbreaking
and painful examples of reasons NOT to frame...
some I've noticed slight warping on, others
have trace-lines COMPLETELY faded... I don't
know about you, but I like having the trace-lines
on my cel...=) (Note: not all cels are damaged...
some of them have been up there for a year or so
and are near the back of the store under hangings,
shelfs, etc and don't get much light exposure.)

One that always comes to mind as being such a
waste is a cel they've had up for several (hmm,
at least 4?) years... it's from the very first
episode of Sailor Moon, when Usagi (Serena)
comes home with her flunking math test... the
cel is of her holding the test up and her mother
scowling at her... this is a very memorable cel
to any Sailor Moon watcher, and was probably
worth something before every single bit of
the black trace-lines faded... now it's one
big blur of color... (now, if this were an
Utena cel in the same condition I think I'd be
ready to string someone up by the toenails...)

I'm sure their flourescent (sp?) lighting has
something to do with it, but it's still a
horrible shame...

Luckily, all of my cels are collected for my
(and only *MY*) enjoyment... no one else cares
about them who lives in the same city (therefore
I almost never pull them out of the books unless
I want to look) and I have no reason to risk
damaging my cels in order to display them...

However, if it's different for you, and you still
want to frame some cels... well, it's your
decision.  =)

Good luck either way!

Lady Z
