Dealers - cel packing plea! (Tue Jun 5 20:04:20 2001 )
Dr. Lara

Due to my small budget, I don't have the ability to
purchase so many cels as many of you here do, but
when I do buy cels, I try to make my choices
carfully. I try to make sure I get the best cels
and that I buy from the most reputable dealers.
But what I have found is that some of the best
dealers are also the worse packers! I will keep
these nameless:
One dealer uses such flimsy cardboard that the
corners of my cels are always bent.
Another dealer uses a box with the cel bag taped to
one side and hanging loose inside. The box arrived
crushed because there is no padding inside and my
cel had a crease.
Then there is the dealer that uses a flattened box
and glues the ends from the inside, which makes it
so difficult to get the cel out without bending
some part of it.
Another dealer put so much tape on all sides it
took half an hour to pry the package open and I
ended up with a basketball size wad of wasted tape.
Luckily the cel isn't damaged.
Then there is one that sandwiched the cel between
two pieces of corrogated cardboard, the kind that
easily becomes folded at a touch and my cel's
background had a crease down the middle.

Dealers, I love you and I love the cels I got from
you, but PLEASE pack better!!!

You can take lessons from Taro that uses a very
stiff cardboard that a nuclear blast can't bend,
from Animanga, that uses a narrow enough box that
keeps its shape even if a giant boulder is placed
on top of it and Noriko that uses a flattened box,
but doesn't glue the ends from the inside.
