Hi,

This is just my personal opinion on OVA vs. TV 
cels. For me, it depends on which series. Here 
are some examples:

In "Battle Athletes," I prefer the "softer" 
design of the OVA-version Kris, but I also like 
Akari's design changes (different color hairband, 
new (cuter) uniforms, etc.) in the TV program.

The TV version of "SMJ" character designs are too 
sharp and angular for me (plus it is all done in 
CG), so I prefer the OVA version -- add to that, 
the OVA plot is much better, without such an 
emphasis on fighting.

In "Akazukin Cha Cha," the character designs for 
the TV and OVA versions are very similar to each 
other, so I like cels from both versions.

The art, in general, was done more carefully and 
with more thought for the original El Hazard OVA, 
so unless TV cels are really nice, I do not go 
for TV cels. Besides, the OVA has the "real" 
Ifurita :p (wait, don't stone me on that last 
comment...apologies to ppl who like the TV-
version Ifurita).
