think about it, what does collecting cels REALLY mean to you? (Tue Jul 24 00:44:51 2001 )

continued from previous post...

I'd even take another step and say most of us are
young, below our 40s and don't have many if no
financial dependents, i.e. we aren't married with
kids. How long do you think the huge collectors
will be collecting, when they're married and have
a family? Ha not very likely at all. Sure some
collectors claim they are married and don't want
kids fine, but if and when you do or if you have
to deal with your parents medical bills b/c they
are aging, who here believes they'll still
collect of all things... anime cels? Also its
good to know if there was ever a fire in the
houses of those collectors that collect
everything under the sun, they sure as hell
wouldn't be covered for the thousands possibly
hundred thousand dollars worth of cels. I'm not
being malacious but thinking about it in a worse
case scenario sure as hell keeps things in
perspective, afterall like it for not, cels are a
luxery item and definately NOT something your
insurance company would cover. Other collectibles
maybe, but they certainly would stand a better
chance for coverage (something DEFINATELY to keep
in mind).

My modus operandum collect cels with excess
money, not your retirement nor rainy day money
... and things become so much managable. And
remember you always have a choice in collecting
even if it means missing out on a dreamcel
(whatever the hell that means). Think about it
will that dreamcel still be a dream when you are
ten years older or when you are married? Doubt
it, enjoy the moment people BUT do plan for the
future; unless of course you think you have
enough money TODAY to live the lifestyle you want
to for the rest of your live & take care of your
dependents. Most of us cannot say we are THAT
well off now can we? Helps to keep that in mind,
while one goes about their periodic cel hunting.
Caveat Emptor, Latin translated "let the buyer
BEWARE", how utterly proper.
