...it's important to note there is a LOT of 
computer-done effects. Many of Hitomi's visions, 
and the visions of Atlantis, the scene with the 
Doppleganger; lots of little digital details and 
overlays that either work or don't, depending. 
However, it's not that revolutionary or anything, 
but it was among the first to start using some of 
the digital methods (hence why a few are so bad 
^^;;). A lot of the editing was done digitally. 
But it's still predominantly cels and certainly 
was not the first to use digital effects.
