From the initial www site posted, I get the idea
that it's trouble only if you have funds 
deposited with paypal or money waiting for you.
They way I use it, they always debit my account,
I never have a balance with them.  It would seem
unlikely that they would be able to freeze my 
checking account without good reason because they
have no domain over it.  I will have to check
with my bank about it to make sure because if my
checking account did get frozen, it would be a 
pretty big bummer. :)  

I've been pretty fortunate
in that I've never had trouble with them and I 
did actually manage to call and talk to them once. 
I like the convenience of being able to pay for 
auctions without having to get over to the post
office (which is always busy!) during lunch and 
I've looked at other things like Bidpay, but they
charge $3.00 a whack!  Are there other free
alternatives to PayPal that are as widely 
accepted?
