You can hire yourself out to the local bandit 
leader, break the contract, fireball everyone and 
take their gold whenever it's convenient. Meaning 
that you can act like a villan and yet not have 
to worry about heroes coming after you. ^_^

After all, the law says you don't have to honor 
contracts with bad people. ;)
