(sorry for the repost, I felt this should be on
the front page so concerned parties could see it.)
Hello,
I would just like to address this problem once
and for all. These cels are not fake, they are
the result of a very very unusual situation. When
the AMG movie was made, there were some extreme
deadlines that caused a certain amount of work to
not be up to the standards that the director had
hoped for. AFTER the movie was made and released,
AIC went to work re-doing some scenes in Japan.
This means that for some cels there are almost
exact duplicates (based on the same original genga
drawings) of the cels in the sequences that were
redone. The newly redone scenes were released on
the DVD, NOT the original ones. So, if you could
somehow get a copy of the original movie release,
the cels that you have seen WOULD match that
exactly.
So... the question becomes "what is real"? The
original animation was done with the cels which
we have seen for sale. If anything, the cels
matching the DVD would be the REproductions,
because they are literally from the re-production
of these particular scenes. That might be
splitting hairs, but that seems to be what this
is about anyway. :)
Anyone with further questions can email me
privately at dark@ubergoth.com and I will be
happy to provide further details.
Sincerely
Hyla
on behalf of Celga
