Ok, here is what I think about using a debit card.
I highly recommend not using them.  I have had a similar
Problem with the post office. I used my debit card to 
get a money order for a cel order.  The post office took 
the money out of my account $150.  They then told me the 
transaction did not go through.  I did not get the money 
order and left the postoffice very mad and confused.
I they checked my account and found out the post office 
did take the money out of my account. but they showed no
record of taking the money.  To make a long story short.
it took me over a month to prove that they took the money
even with bank statements showing they took the money.
It was a very big pain. I dont use my debit card very much
anymore. ^_^
