The voice actor cast for the dun includes Billy Crudup
as Ashitaka, Claire Daines as San, Gillian Anderson as
Moro, Minnie Driver as Eboshi, Billy Bob Thorton as Jiko Bou
and Angelina Jolie is in there as well.
There were 144,400 cels used in the making of Mononoke Hime,
of which 80,000 were done by Key animators. There was an
extensive use of CG in the movie, but as most who have seen
it will agree that it in no way detracts from the movie and
is extremely well done. In talking with others there is still
doubt about companies going to all cg. For the most part
the men in charge of the animation companies are older and
still set in their old ways of animation (eg all cels) so
they are still resisting the cg. And since they have the
final say most of the time it's not going to entirely happen
for some time to come. |
