Drac of the Sharp Smiles

This is true and is an anecdote which was retold in a book
by one of Disney's "old men". If anyone is interested, I
will pull out my reference books and try to find out which
one said it. I've been told there are actual pictures of
these "celebrations" of the completion of a film, but I have
yet to see one.

Some other things were also done with Disney's cels. . .
When the parks first opened (at least, when Disneyland
opened - I'm not completely sure this is true for
Disneyworld), the cels were handed out to the children as
free give-aways. During the war years (WWII), cels were
washed off and reused to conserve materials. I found out
about this as I attempted to find a cel of the character
"Honest John" from Pinocchio. (He's the fox who led
Pinocchio off to Stromboli, for anyone not up on their
Disney. ^_^) Sadly for me, Pinocchio was released in 1940
or 1941 - I can't remember - and most of it's cels suffered
this second fate.

Many Sharp Smiles,
--Drac (who adores Disney almost as much as anime ^_-)
