That's true. It does seem a little far-fetched to only break even, but still be able to buy more cels. The reason I can do this, is because I sell other items. For instance, I just got done with an auction for some doujinshis. Since the particular doujinshi is sold out everywhere, I made 4 times as mush as I paid. The profit of that comes into play with the decrease in prices. Why the high prices in the first place? Sometimes I won't break even on eBay. Then there are some people that don't mind paying a little extra, if I bought a cel they couldn't because they were away from the computer at the update. Let's face it; who wants to be up at night looking at the computer to get cels? Most cels are sold minutes after the update. You'e not there when it happens- too late! Besides, some people can't afford the cels. I've even told people I'd buy the expensive cel they wanted, make up the difference in sales and sell it to them at a reasonable price! Yeah, it seems unbelieveable, but I know how it is to start out in this cel collecting, and not being able to afford 50.00 cels. Another reason for the higher prices, is the fact that they are less than they are on eBay. Lets be realistice. There's ALOT of cels on eBay you've seen go for crazy prices, and you wonder what the highest bidder was thinking. Usually my cels on ebay go for double what I paid. If I was in it for the money, I'd out everything I got onto eBay, but that wouldn't make me look too good. Im not "jumping" on you. Im just trying to help you understand "my" situation, because it IS impossible to break even, but keep getting alot of cels.
