Re: calculating a fair "value".... (Wed Aug 16 09:00:13 2000 )

As a collector who sells only as a "side-effect"
to collecting, I find calculating the worth of a
cel is so annoying...

But, the one thing I'd like to see people do is
NOT calculate an evilBay average into a cel's
selling 'value' - I mean, evilBay (which I'll have
to use soon anyway -_-'''') is a competition of
money, while normal dealer sites are a competition
of time. In terms of "fairness" I just feel the
second kind of retailship is better... -_-' heh,
normal retailers compete against each other to get
our business and hence prices may fall a bit,
while auctions have us bidding against each other
and the price just keeps getting higher. Damn
smart of some sellers, but irritating nonetheless.

Sure, I understand that private sellers would want
to get our money back from a given cel... I just
don't like auction abuse when people turn it into
a "store." Fine line.
