By buying a cel, you own the physical object, but
not the image. The image is the intellectual
property (IP) of the studio.
Owning the cel doesn't convey any rights to you,
such as printing the image on lunchboxes,
tshirts, posters, etc. Hanken cels are expensive
when purchased from the studio because the
purchaser *does* have the rights to reproduce the
image.
Cel owners have no grounds to prevent people
from "copying" the cels shown on their site. The
cel owner has no rights whatsoever to the IP,
only what they hold in their hand.
