Sadly this kind of event happens ALL the time. I
recall reading on Yahoo auctions and AnimeChaos'
cel forum about a similar incident back on Yahoo
Auctions when a buyer bought two cels from the
same seller but the buyer completely shilled the
auction (user name if I recall correctly was
shelene_urameshi ring any bells oion?) and
finally used the old excuse "I'm new to cel
collecting b.s.". But to add insult to injury get
a load of this this girl was underaged, why the
the hell does ebay allow underaged kids to get
accounts is beyond me. ^_^;

As collectors we are a an extremely niche market
and word gets around if you are a good or bad
seller/buyer. We share information on good
sellers why not the same on bad buyers and people
who shill in public?

Shilling auctions hurts everyone the seller and
the buyers alike. I for one rather KNOW that xyz
buyer on Ebay or Yahoo is a shiller or deadbeat
buyer than NOT know, come on be honest wouldn't
you want to know to?!

So to come full circle with this, it isn't so
much as exacerbating the situation as informing
all concerned parties and thats a heck of a lot
of people. Remember this isn't an isolated
occurance its a reality that makes cel collecting
so competitive and at times ugly.
