I think your response is very much uncalled for. 
I was actually glad that Marcus posted because it 
reminded me how easy it is to get swept away in 
the moment. I also did not find it condescending 
in any way.

While we all say we practice common sense, some 
among us have been ripped off by sellers and 
promises. Search the archives for examples. Plus 
how many times have any of you reading this, ever 
sent off payment and wondered if you would ever 
see the cel in return? I've felt nervous a couple 
times and have been fortunate that everything 
turned out all right (except for one case where I 
had to demand and get my money back). Bad deals 
can happen to the "smartest" of us.
