Belldandy as the ideal woman... (Tue Oct 16 05:47:33 2001 )

No... It wasn't the arguments for unconditional
love (you get that in Slayers with Lina even
though Gourry's such an idiot, as well as a lot
of other anime) or the femininity, 'cuz there's a
TON of anime girls that are more feminine than
real women could ever be... The real arguments
were waaaaaay more scary.

Like lets see.. well the most disturbing thing
for me was all the guys who were like 'the ideal
girlfriend is one who pampers you and spends all
her time/money/effort indulging your every whim'
and thennn I asked about personality, which it
turns out doesn't matter so long as she cooks,
cleans, does your laundry, and does it while
looking pretty...so then I pointed out that
what... they've kissed maybe once in the oav and
movie? and it turns out that doesn't really
matter either, because a girl like that is so
submissive, she'll do anything you tell her to in
a situation like that. I think the quote that
comes to mind is:

"Dude! my friend has a girlfriend, and she like
spends all her money on him and buys him stuff!
She's like the perfect girlfriend!"

So here's my field test when meeting male anime
fans: "So, who's your favorite anime character?"
If mention Belldandly, back out of room slowly,
make break for nearest exit, lest he try to get
me to participate in some of the cosplaying that
gets videotaped and sold on ebay...
If mentions Asuka or other non-megamisama
characters, relax and chat a while.

As for other girls... I think the Yaoi fetish is
more disturbing than an electra complex. I just
joined a Weiss Kreuz mailing list and my mailbox
is flooded with kinky stories of Youji x Omi x
Ken x Shuldig x.... even the parodies... 0_o

^_^ By the way, I have no problem posting my pic
if anyone thinks I'm being too judgemental...I
admit to wearing almost all black today, but eh,
that's just coincidence.
