Re: ethical question - is it ok to modify cel scans for the website? (and my first Totoro cel!) (Wed Oct 10 06:35:14 2001 )

Awww! Beautiful cel! Congratulations!

As for your "ethical" question, I prefer to show
my cels warts and all (except for a few early
scans which I need to redo). To me, it has more
personality and feels more like "production art"
rather than just "art." If all the scans are just
peachy then what's the difference between them
and an image gallery? (Of course, this philosophy
could have developed from my utter laziness in
scanning and cleaning them up ^_~)

But really the only ethical problem is, as other
people have pointed out, when you sell. I can't
imagine you'd ever let Mei go but you'd have to
rescan at that point.

Can't wait to see your other finds!

Best wishes,

Wendy
