...it's odd, but I never read that as poking fun 
at Watase at all. Contrary to popular beliefs, 
harisen (paper fans, of the type she uses...these 
are the fans used to whack people over the head 
that are so prevalent in anime, manga, and 
doujinshi) and fangs were anime conventions long 
before Watase gave Tasuki a tessen ^^;; I look at 
it more as poking fun at anime than at Watase, 
but perhaps that's where we differ.
