Is it just me, or is the Fushigi Yuugi cel market 
about to face a really horrid obstacle? 

I mean, I'm not sure if this is a rant, or what, 
but the prices on FY cels are bad enough 
already, but as soon as Leigh's auction ends, 
I've a feeling I'm not going to be able to afford 
my favorite hobby anymore. This really 
saddens me. 

Word of advice to all the collectors:  Don't pay 
half a grand for something you're going to sell 
a month later. Just don't. It's a BAD idea. Why 
is it? Because not only does it make 
everything more expensive for you, but 
everyone else as well. I used to get nearly all 
of my FY cels on Ebay. But you know what? I 
can't afford it anymore. I get the majority of my 
FY cels now from private collectors. Everyone 
here knows I've wanted a TV Nuriko for a very 
long time now, but the truth is, the way things 
are going, I'm NEVER going to be able to 
afford one. To be quite honest with you, that 
breaks my little heart. It really does. 

I bet a good shot of Nuriko from TV now would 
go on ebay for at LEAST $600 if not more. Is 
this SCARING anyone else? I mean, 
seriously, where does all the money come 
from... ?

Leigh - lucky you, girl, you are going to make a 
bazillion off of selling your FY collection alone.

I think mouse was on the dot when she 
mentioned a 'cel apocalypse' because it kinda 
feels like that's what this is. 

Sometimes I feel like people are going after 
cels solely because others want them so 
badly. I hate that. Me? I have _never_ been 
able to part with a cel that I paid over $200 for. 
I won't buy anything that expensive unless I 
know it will be forever very dear to me. That's 
just the way I am.

It's practicality. I think this is a hobby you need 
to be really responsible with. Other wise you 
can ruin it for yourself AND for others. 

I realize Leigh has a lot of our dream cels, and 
I myself am going after one in particular, but I 
know my limit, and by God, if I get it, I will never 
EVER sell it. If I have to some day, it's not 
going for anymore than I paid for it. I prefer to 
give everyone a fair chance. 

Please note that this post isn't going against 
ANYONE, especially not Leigh. I'm just 
speaking out for how I think a lot of FY 
collectors feel nowadays about the prices 
going insane. You're free to disagree with me, 
but by all means, if you see through my eyes 
on this, speak out, friends. I don't know if 
there's anything we can do so 'save' ourselves 
from high prices, but we can always do our 
best to know our limits and play fair. Most 
importantly folks, be *reasonable* with what 
you pay. I mean - REALLY think about it before 
you spend a ton of money on it. 

That's really all I gotta say...
