Almost daily, it's easier and easier to pay for
cels from stores, deputies, and even private
individuals with credit cards. I've talked to
more than one person who admitted to me they have
a more than $1000 balance on their credit card(s)
from cels *alone*! (One person, over $3000.) And
every time, it's always in connection with words
similar to: "it will get paid off eventually".
Heck, an argument for accepting Paypal is that
people will bid higher when they can pay with a
credit card than they would if they had to shell
out cash for a money order.

I completely do NOT understand this attitude,
since I was always taught that a credit card is a
convienience ONLY. Nothing goes on it which you
can't pay for immediately, and when your bill
comes, you pay it down to *zero*.

There must be more people in "cel debt" than have
talked to me about it. . . The more I think of
how many people that could be, the more I think
that perhaps part of the reason cels are going
for scandalous amounts of money is because people
*AREN'T* paying for them! They're sticking it on
a credit card and just paying their minimum
amount due - which is often piddling. (Example:
For a $600 balance on my MC, my minimum amount
due is only about $20. O_o;)

I would be very interested to know what people
think of this?? Do people think that the growing
ability to dodge cel costs onto credit cards is
pushing up cel prices? I really think it is
becoming a signifigant factor! I get the feeling
many cels are going to not even those with the
deepest pockets, but to those with the highest
credit card limit. . .
