Heh, I'm not saying I want the club to disband,
I'm just saying that I personally can't join them
because the members (of the one at my school)
creep the hell out of me. Especially the guys.
Especially when they talk about Belldandy.
Actually, I'm not the only one who feels this way
about my university's club because everyone I've
met who knows the anime club/has been involved
with them stays away for the same reason. It's
always 'hey, are you in the anime club?' "nope,
was going to join them, met a couple of the
members, and got scared off." 'oh, yeah, me too.
I joined when I was a freshmen, but I got weirded
out. There was a guy there I called pedo-san
because he was disturbingly obsessed with little
girl manga...' "Oh yeah, I think I met him..." On
a more memorable occasion, I actually won a manga
comic from someone on ebay who coincidentally was
at my school, and when we met her to pick it up
she was like... 'so... are you guys from the
anime club?' and we were like 'nope' and she
goes 'thank god! I was worried you might be in
the club, I try to avoid them, they're sketchy'
(and this is from a girl who translates hentai
comics as a part time job)

I'm sure you have a lovely anime club; I'm just
pointing out that the one at my school is so
extreme its scared off all the moderate-light
anime fans, and I think that sucks, because it's
not like I can start up another anime club to
meet nice people interested in anime, because all
the nice people I meet run AWAY from the club.

Maybe if I just start a general 'cartoon addicts
club'....
