Well, I think it's a tough call, ultimately.

I wouldn't give you $5 for the most perfect, 
coveted cel of any of the DBZ crowd. I have no 
problem with the fans of that show, I simply 
don't care for the art. Much as I'd turn up my 
nose at an Impressionist painting. (I'm a 
classicist through and through, it's sad but 
true.)

Whereas I would forfeit life and limb for a cel 
of Heero Yuy's belly button. 

It's all perspective. A cel that has tons of 
value to me, whether because of the way it came 
into my possession, the moment it depicts, or 
simply my reaction to it, may not mean a hill of 
beans to you and vice versa. I buy what I like, 
for all of the above reasons.

Ultimately, however, I think I'm more with you. 
I'll buy lotsa little stuff before I'll buy one 
big thing, easy. ^_~
