Well, when I first started collecting, pretty
much everyone here can tell you how nutty I was.
I was after just about everything from a
particular show that I could find. Sadly I was
taken in by the competitive nature that cel
collecting can sometimes breed. I made offers
night and day to try and get THE shots that I
wanted. I also collected other shows because I
liked them, although not as much as the series I
focus on. Im very satisfied with that I have
now. I have been lucky enough to accquire cels
of my favorite character from the exact scenes I
wanted. I went into horrid debt last year from
overspending. That's when I realized that no
matter how cool other people think I am because I
have x cel, it still put me into debt...and I
didnt like it -that- much. So these days I
concentrate on just one series, and only a
handful of characters from that series. I look
at people who have tons and tons of cels, and I
just think, "What are they going to do with them
all?" I live in an apartment, not like I have
wallspace to frame each of my cels. I've also
limited myself to only the most perfect shots I
can find of the charas I like. Only shoulders up
face shots. It's been great on my wallet, and Im
much more satisfied with what I do get. It took
me a whole year to come to my senses in this
hobby. It's just not worth it to me now to go
into horrible debt over something I might not
even like a year from now. Im still interested
in cels, and there's still a few shots eluding
me, but Im not a ravenous hyena like I was early
last year....
