Evilminion, I will help you price the Tenchi cels
if you would like. Otherwise, I think that eBay
is a valid option for you.
As for the enormous debate that has brewed YET
AGAIN over something as the result of 'Minion's
post... We've been through this before and the
attitude is not changing and probably will not
change even though different people take up the
flag at various times.
There is, in my humble opinion, a difference
between regular reselling and gouging. There are
a few people (of whom no fewer than three
actually consider themselves dealers) who are
guilty of gouging in my opinion. This means that
a cel that was available for $50-$100 from a
dealer we all have access to was bought by
these 'dealers' and put on their site for $200,
or put directly on eBay. If you have bought an
individual cel from a site and sell it within a
week, you can't claim not to know what it is
worth, sorry.
Yes, they have a right to do this.
And I have a right NOT ONLY not to buy from them
but to report this gouging to people who might be
buying this cel for the heavily inflated price.
It all comes down to are we in this for profit or
are we in this for enjoyment of the cels.
Personally, I hate price gouging because I have
been the one who paid that extra $200 for a cel I
really wanted. Yes, EXTRA $200.
Now I have a cel that I HAD truly wanted, but now
it makes me a little sick every time I see it
because not only did I pay a ton over what it was
worth, but I paid it to someone whose business
practices are extremely distasteful to me.
By buying that cel, I supported something that I
find abhorrent and now it has lost its appeal to
me AND there's no way that I could resell it for
the price I paid (or anything close to it). So I
have this very expensive reminder of how if you
deal with people like this, they'll just push it
further and further because there is no limit to
greed. So, I have chosen not to deal with certain
people, no matter how much I might like the cels
that they have. It's not worth the frustration
and anger.
Everyone is more than capable of making his or
her own choice about whether they wish to deal
with someone who is obviously price-gouging. My
own attitude is that if you don't like their
practices, don't buy from them. You don't have to
crucify them. Just make others aware of what is
going on so that they can make their own
decisions about it.
