...but really, to each his own. The only thing I
really get self-righteous about is things
like "unedited" anime they show on CN that IS
edited -.-;;; Lies, lies, I tell you!

For me, I have taken the time to learn Japanese,
and so I prefer to watch mine subbed or raw. It
sounds a LOT better when the character's original
voice can be heard, especially since a lot of the
time the script is written around the nuances in
that character's voice. I've never been a fan of
dubbing any language, because I hate that
egocentrism of "The rest of the world SHOULD
speak English"...I like hearing things how they
were originally meant to be heard, not how it's
convenient to be heard.

However, on the flipside, I can understand those
who prefer dubs. A friend of mine watches dubs
because she has severe eye problems, and so
watching subs would be a huge strain on her. It's
very convenient to have dubs out there for people
who can't watch subs.

But still, I prefer subs. It's just....nicer.
Plus, the translation is a lot better...a lot
more accurate, because they don't have to worry
about fitting things in a certain amount of
speaking space. For certain dub actors, they let
them "improvise"...::shudder:: THAT frightens me,
right there.

Again, though, to each his own.
