According to most of the restoration pages I've
been to today, real restoration is supposed to
highten the cel's value, not lower it. Then
again, I assume these people were refering to
Disney and vintage animation art, not anime. If
it's good enough for 10 thousand dollar cels tho,
I think it's good enough for me.

According to the websites, at some point in time
all animation art starts to fade and lose it's
luster. Restoration is there to fix that. I
really dont think having a cel restored, properly
and by people who have been doing it since
animation was around lowers the value of the cel
at all. Besides, the cels I have that I want
restored are cels that I would never sell, so the
worth makes no difference to me. As long as it
looks good Im okay with it. This place I found
seems to know what they're doing. The articles
are fascinating! Its a whole lab dedicated to
nothing but the art of restoring animation
artwork. Even defects as bad as whole chunks of
paint gone, they can fix it as if it never
happened. If it's something as little as some
line fading, I dont see how fixing it lowers the
value of the cel. You guys should really read
about how they do it, it's amazing!
