Sorry but you are mistaken... (maybe you missed
some chapters...).

I quote from a book specialy about publishing
information on internet :
"A copyright is automatically created at the
time you create an original work. There's no extra
effort necessary: You write it, you own the copyright.
[...]
Through the creation of a copyright is automatic, there
are useful measures to take to protect your copyright.
One of the most familiar is to include a copyright
notice in a prominent place in your work. That copyright
notice alerts others to the existence of your copyright
and warns them against duplication or other use of your
work without your consent.
[...]
Copyright law is even generous enough to provide copyright
protection for your work if you forget to include a
copyright notice. As long as you make a good-faith
effort to remedy the situation by trying to update all
the copies[...] within five years of the sneaking, your
copyright is still valid."

As a side note, a full copyright notice is in the
form : "Copyright @ 1048 Enciclopedia Galatic Fundation.
All rights reserved."
