Hi, me. I'm new here too. Well, okay, not *real*
new, I've been lurking for awhile now, um,
probably since January. Anyway, getting to the
point...
This is a tough issue. As a cel collector, I hate
to see this happen. A similar fate befell an
incredible Faye Valentine cel that was on Ebay a
few months ago. I attempted to win the thing with
a $200 some odd bid (a very large amount for me
to bid on a cel, but I wanted it bad!), but I was
way out of my league as the cel sold for over
$600. No problem--until I found out later through
this forum that this cel was originally sold on
Taro for significantly less. It would seem that
the seller bought it strictly for resale, and not
for the love of the cel.
Sure, I felt bummed, but was this person wrong
for seizing an opportunity? For getting there
first? For accepting a $600 bid? No, I don't
think so. In any hobby, there are going to be
opportunists (that sounds like a dirty word, but
I don't mean it to be), and then there's going to
be those selfless collectors who'll give you
their right arm. Most of us are probably
somewhere in between. ^_^ I think once a person
buys a cel, they have every right to do as they
wish with it. They just better not complain about
it when someone else buys *their* wish list cel
for resale. That would be hypocritical...
--melissann, hoping that there's room for another
Melissa around here!
P.S. Has anyone seen the current bid for that
Treize cel--Yikes! @_@
