As I collector, of course I don't like it when
people buy cels from readily-available web sites
and then resell them at a profit. It's their right
to do what they like with the cel, but it does tend
to drive up market prices.
However, in this case you're talking about a
transaction between two _dealers_. It could be
that some arrangement was made to trade stock, or
perhaps to unload a package of unsold cels so as
not to have to take them back to Japan, or who
knows what. As far as I can tell, Nichibei is
definitely _not_ one of the small dealers who
normally get their stock from Taro, etc.
Whether it is more "fair" or harmful/beneficial to
the market as a whole for dealers to do first-come-
first-served, or to put things on auction, or to
run a lottery is a different question. I can see
pros and cons to all three. (I'm guessing that if
Nichibei had posted the cel on their site at the
exact same price Hobby Shop K was selling it for,
the original poster wouldn't have objected.)
