I only buy from series I've seen and like.  Cheap 
or not, I can't afford to collect from things I 
haven't seen... and well, it's just not the same 
for me.  There's not the same kind of love as for 
something I've actually seen.  Now, if a series I 
like does have cheap & cute/pretty cels, I might 
buy more than I normally would.  I have some sort 
of internal/gut feeling scaling of price with how 
much I like the series.  So while I like some 
series, I just won't shell out the big bucks for 
them.  However, other series I may not like as much 
I'll have more cels from, because the cels are more 
affordable for me.

While my favorite scenes are my favorite cels to 
get, most of the time that's not an option.  After 
that I go for what I consider nice character shots. 
It's kind of an "I'll know it when I see it" kind 
of thing often.  The expression, art, and layout 
all need to come together just right.  With the 
amount of money we're spending, I rather wait for 
the right one.  If you wait long enough, eventually 
everything seems to show up.  Why buy something you 
don't -really- like? ^_^
