Probably more than would be evident from my
gallery :-).

I look for a cel that appeals to me. For different
cels, it can mean different things. Sometimes it's
the character, or the expression, or the scene -
sometimes it's the background (yes, I've bought
cels primarily for the backgrounds - some of them
are gorgeous), sometimes it's for the colors used,
sometimes I just simply like it.

I don't collect cels only for the shows - I
collect some of them because they appeal to me as
works of art. I've been collecting art of various
types for years, and animation art fits nicely into
that collection.

As for condition, it matters to a point. I don't
think anyone goes LOOKING for faded lines, but I
won't rule out a cel because of it. But I will
expect the price to reflect the cel's condition.

>What do you think makes a good cel dealer?

Yes :-).

Even more than that, a good dealer has a way of
letting customers know they're not just walking
wallets (or paypal logins :-), but people, too.
Different dealers do this in different ways, which
I won't enumerate here (because I'm always afraid
of leaving someone out), and it's appreciated.

>Do you buy from certain dealers because you know
>the money is supporting *them* and not another

Not really. The bottom line is still the cels
themselves - are they what I'm looking for at a
price I'm willing to pay? There are certain dealers
I enjoy buying from more than others, but still,
if they don't have the cels, I can't justify
buying from them.
