Well, the pin dealer who does this actually sells the item
to the highest bidder at the second to highest bidder's
high bid. (I hope I phrased that so that it makes sense.)
You definitely DO have to have a lot of trust in the
seller, and there is lots of room for abuse. I said this
was an interesting method, not my favorite. ^_-  Also, I
think that for the above reasons, it has been quickly
falling out of favor with people.

But at least as far as trusting the seller goes, I think
you would be surprised at what people can learn even if the
seller isn't telling. . . People *talk* to each other -
especially within the confines of one particular hobby. If
a seller was doing something dishonest, it wouldn't take
long for the connected people to figure it out and blast
him/her for it.

In any case, I was just presenting this as something I've
seen in times past. . . I want to go on the record as
saying I DON'T want to see this method resurrected!! ^_^'
