Anyway, I am not chosing sides or anything and
agree with a lot of things said. I started, dunno
when-a few years ago I guess. My first pan Tasuki
cel was under $100 cost for me. If I saw it for
sale now, it would be at least for $500 or
something. No doubt there. Also, I'd never give
it up unless it was for that price, and I still
would not sell it ever. Love it a lot. Well, as
for AG's Nuriko cel, someone wanted to pay it
because Nuriko's death scene is a rare hard to
find item and hated they had to pay that much,
but was willing because it was like a dream cel
to them. I won't go how much I paid for my dream
cel but it was priced right I agree, and had no
second thoughts, even though I could have paid
off a bill completly with the money. I'm going
after another now and well, I would "hate" to pay
a lot, but am willing to to get it. Cel
obsession? Maybe Oprah can do a segment on it or
something? Ever consider that when these high
places have cels for sale like AG does for higher
amounts than some other places, they might be
spending near that amount to pay for the cels to
sell to us? Plus, sometimes they are rare or
great quality too. I don't worry about their
prices because they that might be the going rate
now, and we all might be lucky to find a good cel
for cheap. My recent find is a Tasuki tv fight
scene for $69! Full front shot too! I was at a
convention once and Kurt stated that as well.
That he could not lower the prices any lower
because he'll be loosing money, and he paid
dearly to get a hold of them. So, before
we "talk" about prices being too high, consider
what people or dealers might have paid for those
cels to begin with. Not saying all do, just heard
it from Kurt once at a convention. I also love
getting cheaper cels, but I have to adjust to the
current flow of prices because it's just the way
it is. I won't blame anything or any one for
being that way, it just is and we all have to
adjust or if too high, can't buy them. It's an
ever growing and changing hobby, and the adding
of new collectors every year to collect a certain
series will of course be also what makes it more
costly. Nothing wrong with it, it's just the way
it is and we have to adjust. Not one thing or
reason should be put to blame for high prices,
there are a lot of factors concerning perhaps
why. And we all have our ways of getting cels,
just we shouldn't judge one another on how we do
it. Soe of us go after it like mad and others
just wait for updates. Either way is good and
well, fine. It's a hunt and we all have our
methods of getting what we want. *shrugs* As for
offers, it's rare for me to make offers on cels
unless the person was willing to sell or they are
selling it or asking for offers. I am glad the
person I made an offer recently had to sell the
cel, because of reasons I won't say. They would
have sold it anyway and had to. As for other cels
out there, I like looking at other people's cels,
but I also think this: Those people love those
cels and I "try" not to covet their things and
think some cel like that or even better will come
along for me, and don't make people offers
because it might save me money. I also find
nothing wrong with people making offers, it is
flattering. I like the competition of going after
auctions and well, updates more so. As for
the "Do not ask" I need to put that up on a few
of my cels! Never thought about that. ^_^
