I just finished reading all the messages and the
anime "Fushigi Yuugi" kept popping up and I
couldn't resist..heh ^_^

I'm a relatively new cel collector and I too love
Fushigi Yuugi. It astounds me by how much people
are willing to pay for a "Nuriko dream cel" I
guess what bugs me the most is that a lot of
these people who collect Fushigi cels ESPECIALLY
those of nuriko eventually sell their cels at
least twice than what they paid for--though they
won't admit it and will ALWAYS say that the price
is half than they originally paid for. Trust me
I've done enough researching to know that's
complete bull, most of the time. To those that
are cel collecting just to make a sole profit,
here are a few words for you.

Fushigi Yuugi is a "trend" anime. It's hot right
now and cels are very collectible. I've been
lucky to get two good end cels for very very
cheap. (Thank you Usagis House) This "trend" will
pass. You may pay 300 bucks for that Nuriko cel
now but don't expect to get that in return when
the next hottest anime comes around (except for
MAYBE a few hardcore fushigi lovers who have too
much time and money on their hands ^_^)
In other words, collect cels because you love
collect them, not because you think you'll make
twice than what you paid for. Go to the stock
market for that. ^_^
For me, I'm astounded about how cel collecting
has taken over some people's lives to the point
where they have to worry about friggin' rent.
People people..they're painted acetate. Love
them, cherish them because they're a part of your
favorite anime but please-- they are a little
LESS important than that roof over your head.
Imagine if you get evicted from your apartment
because you just HAD to get that Nuriko dead
scene cel.
Watch your hard-earned dollars (...as they go
into someone else's hand)
Enjoy collecting.
