Card Captor Sakura is really really funny. I love
the romance between Syaoran & Sakura, it's so
cute. But, I'm a female and a big shoujo fan ...
this stuff is ~made~ for people like me. It's
supposed to appeal to your "it's SOO cute and
SOOO sweet" gene. I personally get sucked in
every time ^_^; and my husband is very fond of
Suppi & Kero because they are really amusing (I
highly recommend the Kero Special from Card
Captor Sakura movie 2, Tiny Toons eat your heart
out). Again, subtitled only on this series.

On Gundam Wing, I have yet to find someone who
can convince me that any of the GW boys are 15,
they all look about 18+ to me ^_^;;. And did you
know Zechs is supposed to be 19, and Treize 20 or
something? Yeah ~right~, they got that powerful
and yet they can't even legally drink yet.
Reality is bent a little in GW. I had a few
issues with the dub (Zech's voice mostly >.<, and
the lack of Hikaru Midorkawa as Heero...) but
overall if you watched the uncut dubbed, it's
good. It's just one of those series that make you
think ^_^;

Another thing that Japanese Animation has going
for it is that it is usually beautiful. I can't
watch a lot of the "cartoons" on TV now, I just
find things like Rugrats and that Dogcat show and
the show with the cow to be offensive and ugly
and just plain uninteresting. Powerpuff girls is
nifty, but I think that's because it really
is "cute" and they don't try to be disgusting in
it.

Also, age has nothing to do with liking something
^_^; Just because I like a show like Card Captor
Sakura doesn't mean I am lusting after the
characters, I just enjoy the sweet story. The
characters can be age 10 or age 70, the romance
is what was important to me (and in this show the
humor too). I'm 28 & female btw.

Anyway, just my opinion ^_^

M
