Effects like this may be added later, when the
book is printed or on a differant layer especialy
if they will use the same pictures for several
goods.

If you take the picture from the "Complete Langrisser"
artbook, you will see that they have a kind of "white
aura" around them (same of that Lemnear). But if you
look at the Langrisser CD-Rom that contain scans
of the cels, you will see that this aura was added
later, probably on the computer picture.

True. But you need to be able to compare with the original,
it's drawing or a picture showing more than what there
is on the copy cel.
I try to find a picture showing more than the Lemnear
but I couldn't. The picture is the japanese manga show
a little less...
As I didn't saw the drawing or the original hanken, I can't
say for sure if it was fully painted or if it was cut
that way...  (Quite a lot of production cels are simply
not fully painted when it's outside of the camera field).

I am not saying that all those methods are useless. I
am saying that it's very hardy to be totaly sure when
you don't have the original to compare to...
