Well, you might say I was attempting to perform a "Robin Hood" task.
I understand the potential illegality, but it is a muddy one given the
international nature. Also, as a painter, I have a arguable right
under the first amendment (though the creators of Lodoss are free to contact
me for any cut of the profit (between materials and time, my asking price makes
me about $1.25/hr.).

Additionally, while I admired the Anime Taro cel, I did not use their scan. I used
a combination of screen saves from my Japanese Lodoss tapes, Photoshop enhancements, drawing from
my TV, as well as repeated viewing to distill a template I could use.

So, I feel no obligation to ask for permission from any cel holder. The nature of "fancels" and buying and
purchasing cels is the joy one takes in holding a piece of what is a wonderful piece of art.
To monopolize a particular image or feel the right is inherently wrong and
selfish. My copy pales to the original in execution and in the cache of having the "actual cel."
The issue of politeness regarding permission seems to utterly misguided. I made the
cel because I enjoy making it, and sell it for the dual purpose of sharing my talents to provide
fans with an alternative to high-end cels beyond reach & so I can continue making them.
