Nothing in mind dilutes the ownership of the real thing. In comics, companies reprint issues in all sorts of formats ad nauseum. And yet, I just purchased an issue of Fantastic Four #48 for $168.00 (which I don't have to spend). Its not like I don't know the issue inside and out already, but to own the actual thing is a wonderful thing. Elitism through $$$ is not something to proudly boast. Most fan cels are pretty crappy to begin with. Remember, unless I become famous, your originals will always be worth more. But, the idea that others not so privileged to own a particular cel are banned from looking at it is ridiculous. Posters of Van Gogh's work is rampant, but it hasn't effected his selling price. Hey, I still want those Deedlit Cels from the TV's opening segment (though I rather have a Vegeta cel). |
